NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council does hereby resolve the following: 1. The City Council supports a national cemetary in the aesthetically pleasing rolling hills of a portion of the Camp Parks site, but opposes the location of a national cemetary on the 150 acres presently proposed by the Veterans Administration. 2. In that the Alameda Counny Local Agency Formation Commission has designated several thousand acres of land to the City of Dublin's easterly boundary, including the Camp Parks site as coming under the City of Dublin's sphere of influence; and thus potentially becoming part of the City of Dublin proper in the future; the City wishes to express the necessity of having a public thoroughfare traversing the Camp Parks property from the City of Dublin to the east in order to accomplish the future expansion of the City of Dublin. 3. The City Council encourages the United States Congress Armed Services Committee to consider the City of Dublin's position with respect to the location of the national cemetary as presently proposed by the Veterans Administration.
