SPECIAL MEETING
1.1 Joint Study Session - Update to the Housing Element of the Gene.-al Plan
A Joint Study Session will be held to discuss updates to the Housing Element ofthe General Plan.
The State of California requires that the City Council adopt a comprehensive, long-term General Plan
for the physical development of the City. The Housing Elemert is one of seven mandated elements
of the General Plan and must address the existing and projected housing needs for all economic
segments of the community. State law requires that Housing Ekments be updated and certified every
5 years. The City of Dublin has contracted with Veronica Tam & Associates to update the City's
Housing Element which is due to the State of California by June 30, 2009. The joint Planning
Commission and Housing Committee meeting is the first publk meeting to be held on the Housing
Element update and will provide an overview of the Housing Ekment update process.
RECOMMENDATION: Receive Staff presentation.
