McReynolds Paving Valley Slurry Seal $42,000.00 8,000.00 50,000.00 $42,000.00 $31,990.86 32,478.04 36,456.60 38,486.48 39,704.40 DESCRIPTION: At its meeting of March 28, 1988, the City Council authorized Staff to advertise for bids for Contract 88-5, Annual Street Slurry Seal Program. Slurry Seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong the life of a street. It consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new uniform wearing surface. The City streets are presently on a five- to seven-year cycle depending upon the level of wear. Five bids were received, the lowest of which was $31,990.86 from California Pavement Maintenance Co. Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and checked with references and recommends that the City Council award the bid to the low bidder. ITE~i NO. ~ 2w" COPIES TO: California Pavement Maint. RESOLUTION NO. 88- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN AWARDING CONTRACT 88-5 ANNUAL SLURRY SEAL PROGRAM TO CALIFORNIA PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE CO. WHEREAS~ the City of Dublin did, on April 27~ 1988, publicly open~ examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract 88-5 Annual Slurry Seal Program authorized by the City Council on March 28~ 1988, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids~ and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer~ who has recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 88-5 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit California Pavement Maintenance, at a bid of $31~990.86~ the particulars of which bid are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
