HomeMy WebLinkAbout4.11 Park Furniture ReplacementCITY CLERK File # 1:1[611011014061 AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 18, 2008 SUBJECT: Park Furniture Replacement Project - Authorization to Bid Contract 08-04 Report Prepared by Roseniary Alex, Parrs and Facilities Developinent Coordinator ATTACHMENTS: None RECOMMENDATIO : f�j , , Authorize Staff to Advertise Project FINANCIAL STATEMENT: 2007-2008 ADOPTED BUDGET —SHANNON PARK Measure D Funds $61,500 Engineer's Estimate for Construction $58,028 DESCRIPTION: The Park Furniture Replacement Project was approved as part of the 2004-2009 Capital Improvement Program. The intent of the project is to replace existing picnic tables, benches and trash receptacles with new furniture consisting of recycled plastic and metal components. The project schedule extends over four fiscal years at the following locations: 1) Dolan Park Completed FY 2005-2006 2) Alamo Creek Park Completed FY 2006-2007 3) Stagecoach Park Completed FY 2006-2007 4) Shannon Park FY 2007-2008 5) Kolb Park FY 2008-2009 Staff has prepared a Notice Inviting Bids and the furniture replacement at Shannon Park is part of the base bid scope of work. In an effort to garner an improved pricing structure by increasing the furniture purchase, Staff has included the furniture at Kolb Park as an additive bid item. Kolb Park is scheduled to have furniture replaced in Fiscal Year 2008-2009. If funds are available in Fiscal Year 2008-2009, Staff will phase the project and would seek Council approval to include the additive bid items after Council has adopted the 2008-2009 budget.
