The City received a total of eight bids for this project. The low bidder was Lawrence Johnson Construction, with a bid of $86,532. The budgeted construction funds for this project total $91,045. Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and checked the low bidder's efforts to attain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goals. The low bidder has attained the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goals set for this project. Staff recommends that the City Council award the bid to Lawrence Johnson Construction, the low bidder. COPIES TO: Bidders (8) John Grossman RESOLUTION NO. 87- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN AWARDING CONTRACT 87-10 SENIOR CENTER REMODEL TO LAWRENCE JOHNSON CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on December 2, 1987, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract 87-10 Senior Center Remodel, authorized by the City Council on October 26, 1987, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 87-10 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit Lawrence Johnson Construction, at a bid of $86,532, the particulars of which bid are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
