At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non-
agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record.
COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no
action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The
Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to
report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may
contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item
on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee
MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in
Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3).
4. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for
approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the
audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the
Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item.

6.1 Ad Hoc Committees Updates and Discussion
The Committee will receive updates on the activities of various Ad Hoc Committees,
including the Youth Mental Health Forum and the Sister City partnership with Bray,
Ireland’s Youth Advisory Committee.

Receive the updates from the Youth Mental Health Forum and the Sister City partnership
with Bray, Ireland’s Youth Advisory Committee Ad Hoc Committee.

Meeting Minutes.
On a motion by Vice Chairperson Weiss, seconded by Committee Member Santos, and
by a unanimous vote, the Committee adopted the Consent Calendar.

6.1) 2025-26 Youth Mini-Grant Presentations and Funding Recommendations
Youth Mini-Grant applicants made presentations to the Committee.
Chairperson KarurParekh recused himself due to being a member of the Emerald High
Basic Life Support Program.
Committee Member Kothari recused herself due to being a member of Sensory Wall.
Committee Member Bollapragada recused herself due to being a member of MANSE
Minds.
Committee Member Santos recused herself due to being a member of the Dublin High
Diversity Ambassador Program.
Committee members KarurParekh, Kothari, Bollapragada, and Santos left the room.

The Committee rated applicant presentations and recommended the following funding
awards:

4. KathaMunch Teens $ 1000
5. Latinos Unidos $ 600
6. Sensory Wall $ 600
7. Dublin 4 Wellness $ 500
8. IGNITE Pathways $ 500
9. MANSE Minds $ 500
On a motion by Vice Chairperson Weiss, seconded by Committee Member Vyawahare,
and by a unanimous vote, the Committee approved the Mini -Grant funding
recommendations totaling $ 9700.

4.1) 25-25 Youth Mini-Grant Presentations and Funding Recommendations
Update
The Committee held a Special Meeting to hear a presentation from one Youth
Mini-Grant applicant.
The Committee rated the applicant’s presentation and recommended the following
funding award:
1. Youth Empowerment in Military Careers $ 300
On a motion by Committee Member Kothari, seconded by Committee Member Hayer,
and by a unanimous vote, the Committee approved the Mini -Grant funding
recommendation totaling $ 300.

Ad Hoc Committees Updates and Discussion

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Committee will receive updates on the activities of various ad hoc committees, including

DESCRIPTION:
The ad hoc committees continue to diligently prepare for upcoming community events aimed at
fostering youth engagement, mental health awareness, and supporting local programs. Below
is an update on the status of each event:
Youth Mental Health Forum
The Ad Hoc Committee continues to prepare for the Youth Mental Health Forum to be held on
Thursday, November 13, 2025, which will focus on raising awareness of mental health issues
among teens and providing resources for youth, families, and the broader community. The
forum will feature a panel discussion with mental health professionals, interactive workshops,
and a resource fair aimed at promoting mental wellbeing.

The Sister City Partnership with Bray, Ireland’s Youth Advisory Committee
The Ad Hoc Committee continues to strengthen its partnership with Bray, Ireland’s Youth
Advisory Committee, as they develop a collaborative video collage that will be shared at Bray’s
upcoming youth event. The video will feature introductions from Dublin’s Ad Hoc Committee
members, offering a personal perspective on what it means to serve on the Youth Advisory
Committee and to represent Dublin’s youth voices.
