The County of Alameda is building a new Fire Training Center on County-owned property
adjacent to the existing Fire Station 17 on Gleason Road in Dublin. The facility will consist of
two structures totaling approximately 14,000 square feet on an approximately 200,000-square-
foot site that will serve as a regional training facility. The main training building will feature
classrooms, offices, storage, and exercise space. In addition, there will be a five-story training
tower with simulation rooms for live smoke and burning scenarios, equipment storage, and a
training control room.
The County is funding a public art project for the fire training center that is being managed by
the Alameda County Arts Commission. The County anticipates the future artwork will be in a
highly visible area at the front of the project site, adjacent to the facilities entrance and parking
