SUBJECT:2024-25 Youth Advisory Committee Annual Report

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Youth Advisory Committee will present a report highlighting accomplishments for the
2024-25 term.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Receive the report.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
DESCRIPTION:
Each year, Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) members present a report highlighting
accomplishments during the service term. The YAC’s 2024-25 accomplishments include the
following:
Implemented the Youth Mini-Grant program, distributing $2,500 to nine local youth
organizations serving Dublin students.
Planned, implemented, and hosted the fourth Youth Mental Health Forum at the Shannon
Community Center on November 14, 2024.
Volunteered at the City’s Splatter, Harvest Fair, Floating Pumpkin Patch, Ghosts of Dublin,
Holiday Tree Lighting, St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Spring Eggstravaganza, and Dublin Pride
Volunteer Day.
Hosted a new event, KidVenture Night, at the Dublin Senior Center on February 8, 2025.
The event successfully registered 59 kids and served as a fundraiser for the committee.
Volunteered at the Teen Job Fair on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Dublin Senior Center.

Participated in the Spring Tri-Valley Youth Committees event on Saturday, March 8, 2025,
in Danville.
Hosted the Dublin Benefit Concert on April 24, 2025. A new addition to this year’s event
was the Youth Entrepreneur Fair, which gave young entrepreneurs an opportunity to
showcase their businesses and ideas.
The YAC Chair and Vice Chair presented the annual report to the Parks and Community
Services Commission at its April 21, 2025, meeting.
