CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 2. PRESENTATIONS 3. PUBLIC COMMENT At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non - agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3). 4. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item. 4.1 Approval of the March 12, 2025, Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes The Youth Advisory Committee will consider approving the March 12, 2025, Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting minutes. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Fiscal Year 2024-25 Youth Advisory Committee Youth Mini-Grant Recipient Presentations The Youth Advisory Committee will receive presentations from Youth Mini- Grant recipients, including how funds were used and project impacts. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive the presentations from the 2024 Youth Mini-Grant recipients. Staff Report 6.2 Ad Hoc Committee Updates and Discussion The Youth Advisory Committee will receive updates from the 2025 Dublin Benefit Concert and Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive the update from the 2025 Dublin Benefit Concert and Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees. Staff Report 7. STAFF AND COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS Brief information only reports from Committee Members and/or Staff, including committee reports and reports by Committee Members related to meetings attended at City expense (AB1234). 8. STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Receive the presentations from the 2024 Youth Mini-Grant recipients. FINANCIAL IMPACT:The Fiscal Year 2024-25 City of Dublin Youth Mini-Grant Program is supported by the General Fund in the amount of $2,500. DESCRIPTION:The City of Dublin established the Youth Mini-Grant Program in Fiscal Year 2012-13 to support youth organizations that offer programs for middle and high school students. Each year, Dublin-based youth organizations/clubs have an opportunity to apply for grant funding to assist them in offering activities, including performing arts, sports, multicultural and health awareness, or other activities that support projects or programs benefiting Dublin youth. Funding is recommended annually by the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and awarded by the City Council to organizations/clubs that best meet the needs of Dublin youth. On November 19, 2024, the City Council approved funding for the following groups:1. Dublin High School National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - $5002. Ladies of Vast Effort (L.O.V.E.) - $1503. Dublin High School Chapter American Diabetes Association - $200 8 Page 2 of 2 4. REEFlect - $1505. Dublin High School Speech and Debate Club - $1506. SmartStride - $1507. Wellness Center Ambassador Program - $8008. Wells Middle School Cheer - $1509. Young Innovators - $250As projects near completion, each grant recipient will provide the Committee with a brief three-to-five-minute report on how funds were used and project impacts. DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Benefit Concert and Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees continue to diligently prepare for the upcoming community events.The Benefit Concert Ad Hoc Committee is in the planning stage for the annual fundraising event on April 24, 2025. The Committee agreed that proceeds from the 2025 concert will benefit the Don Biddle Scholarship Fund. Discussions regarding committee duties during the concert, sponsorshipopportunities, and promotional strategies to enhance community participation and outreach are ongoing.The Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committee is working on organizing this event to empower young entrepreneurs in Dublin. The fair will provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase business ideas, connect with other entrepreneurs, and learn valuable skills. Planning includes coordinating with vendors, coordinating logistics, and solidifying marketing efforts to ensure strong participation and support for the youth entrepreneurs.
