Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3). 4.CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item. 4.1 Approval of the February 12, 2025, Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes The Youth Advisory Committee will consider approving the February 12, 2025, Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting minutes. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 KidVenture Post-Event Discussion The Committee will discuss the 2025 KidVenture Night. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Discuss the event, note successes, and recommend areas to improve for future events. Staff_Report 6.2 Spring Tri-Valley Youth Committees Roundtable Event The Youth Advisory Committee will discuss and receive an update from Committee Members who participated in the Spring Tri-Valley Youth Committees Roundtable event. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Discuss and receive an update from Committee Members who attended the Spring Tri- Valley Youth Committees Roundtable event. Staff Report 6.3 Ad Hoc Committees Updates and Discussion The Committee will receive updates from the 2025 Dublin Benefit Concert and the Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive the updates. Staff Report 6.4 Youth Advisory Committee Annual Report Presentation The Youth Advisory Committee will discuss the Annual Report Presentation for the Parks and Community Services Commission and the City Council. STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Discuss the event, note successes, and recommend areas to improve for future events. FINANCIAL IMPACT:None. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)hosted KidVenture Night on February 8, 2025, at the Dublin Senior Center. This event provided an opportunity for committee members to engage with elementary-aged children in the community and create a fun, enriching experience. Participants enjoyed dinner and a variety of activities, including group games, crafts, movies, board games, and more.The first-year event ran from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with fifty-nine participants enrolled. All 15 YAC Committee Members attended and helped facilitate games and activities. The cost was $45 per participant,and the revenue generated will support future youth and teen programs. STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Discuss and receive an update from Committee Members who attended the Spring Tri-Valley Youth Committees Roundtable event. FINANCIAL IMPACT:None. DESCRIPTION:The Dublin Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) participates in the Tri-Valley Youth Committees Roundtable event with Youth Advisory Committees from Pleasanton, San Ramon, Danville, and Livermore each year. The event rotates and is held in a different city each year. The goals of the event are to encourage collaboration and networking with other youth committees, review upcoming events and programs, and discuss successes and challenges.The Spring Tri-Valley Youth Committees Roundtable was on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Danville Community Center. DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Dublin Benefit Concert and the Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees continue to diligently prepare for upcoming events to foster youth engagement and support local programs. Below is an update on the status of each event:The Benefit Concert Ad Hoc Committee is in the planning stage for the annual fundraising event on April 24, 2025. Discussions regarding talent selection, sponsorship opportunities, and promotional strategies to enhance community participation and outreach are ongoing.The Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committee’s planning efforts currently include coordinating with schools and community partners, recruiting participants, and general outreach to ensure strong participation and support for youth entrepreneurs. STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Receive the report. FINANCIAL IMPACT:None. DESCRIPTION:Each year, the Youth Advisory Committee Members present an Annual Report highlighting the Committee’s accomplishments during their term. The Youth Advisory Committee 2024-25 term accomplishments include the following: Awarded nine youth organizations in Dublin with a Youth Mini-Grant, totaling $2,500 –Dublin High School National Alliance on Mental Illness (DHS NAMI), Wellness Center Ambassador Program, Dublin High School (DHS) American Diabetes Association, Young Innovators, Ladies of Vast Effort (L.O.V.E.), DHS Speech and Debate, SmartStride, REEFlect, and Wells Middle School Cheer. Planned, implemented, and hosted the Youth Mental Health Forum at the Shannon Community Center on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Volunteered at Splatter, Harvest Fair, Floating Pumpkin Patch, Ghosts of Dublin, St. Patrick’s Day Festival, and the Holiday Tree Lighting. Volunteered at the Teen Job Fair on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Dublin Senior 13 Page 2 of 2 Center. Participated in the Spring Tri-Valley Youth Committees Roundtable on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Will volunteer at the Spring Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Heritage Park. Will host the Dublin Benefit Concert on April 24, 2025, at the Farmers Market at Emerald Glen Park. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Don Biddle Scholarship Fund.Chair Yma Santos and Vice Chair Danica Molnar will present the Annual Report at the April 2025Parks and Community Services Commission Meeting and at a May 2025 City Council meeting.
