At this time, the public is permitted to address the Youth Advisory Committee on non-
agendized items. Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record.
COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State
Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted
agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may
request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of
the public may contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure
to place an item on a future Youth Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under
which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the
agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3).
4. CONSENT CALENDAR
Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for
approval by the Youth Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the
audience, Staff or the Youth Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from
the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the
item.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:The Committee will receive updates from ad hoc committees including the 2025 Dublin Benefit Concert, and the Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Receive the updates from the 2025 Benefit Concert and the Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committees.

DESCRIPTION:The ad hoc committees continue to diligently prepare for upcoming community events to fosteryouth engagement and support for local programs. Below is an update on the status of each event:The Benefit Concert Ad Hoc Committee is in the initial planning stage for the annual fundraising event on April 24, 2025. The Committee agreed that proceeds from the 2025 concert will benefitthe Don Biddle Scholarship Fund. Discussions regarding talent selection, sponsorship opportunities, and promotional strategies to enhance community participation and outreach are ongoing.The Youth Entrepreneur Fair Ad Hoc Committee is working on organizing this event to empower young entrepreneurs in Dublin. The fair will provide a platform for young people to showcase their business ideas, connect with local mentors, and learn valuable skills through workshops. Planning includes coordinating with schools and community partners to ensure strong participation and support for youth entrepreneurs. The event will be held during the BenefitConcert on April 24, 2025.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Discuss events and assign Youth Advisory Committee Members to available volunteer shifts.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:None.
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are crucial to the overall success of Parks and Community Services Department(Department) events. Historically, Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) members volunteer at most Department events. In Spring 2025, the Department seeks volunteers for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Shamrock Fun Run, the Spring Eggstravaganza, and Dublin Pride Week Volunteer Day.The City’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16, 2025. The event features the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Shamrock 5K Fun Run & Walk, and the St. Patrick’s Day Festival, which includes over 250 vendor booths, live music, and a carnival. Over80,000 are expected to attend the weekend's festivities and participate in this unique community tradition.Volunteer shifts are available both Saturday and Sunday, March 15and 16, 2025. Shift time slots are 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 12:00 to 3:00 PM, 2:30 to 5:30 PM for festival shifts, and 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM for Shamrock 5K Fun Run & Walk. A minimum of two Committee Members per shift isrequested. Assignments for the festival include helping with parking, staffing the information

booth, bike valet, and other miscellaneous duties. Shamrock Fun Run shifts will include assisting with packet pick-up and various assignments.The 2025 Spring Eggstravaganza is Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at HeritagePark. Families will enjoy an egg hunt event, meeting with Flopsy the Rabbit, crafts, games, activities, and refreshment booths from local businesses. Volunteers are asked to assist with the event setup, logistics during the event, and cleanup. Volunteer shifts are available from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A minimum of four Committee Members are requested to volunteer. Dublin Pride Week is an annual community celebration around Earth Day to celebrate and inspire Dublin residents to give back to their city, along with a large volunteer day, which will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Emerald Glen Park. This day combines the efforts of several hundred resident volunteers to complete beautification projects around the city and other planned events and activities take place to promote environmental stewardship.Volunteers are asked to help with the setup and breakdown of the event, assist with the City information booth, and collection of waste throughout the park during the event. Volunteer shifts are available from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A minimum of four Committee Members are requested to volunteer.
