No. 146-24, Item 8.1, Adopted 12/17/2024 Page 1 of 3 RESOLUTION NO. 146 – 24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN RECITING THE FACTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF, AND OTHER SUCH MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW WHEREAS, a consolidated general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Dublin, County of Alameda, State of California, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, as required by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council requested that the Alameda County Board of Supervisors order the consolidation of said election; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Registrar of Voters has canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results, attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1. That said consolidated municipal election was held for the purpose of the following: Selecting one Mayor of the City of Dublin to serve for a term of two years. Selecting one City Councilmember, District 1, of the Dublin City Council to serve for a term of four years. Selecting one City Councilmember, District 3, of the Dublin City Council to serve for a term of four years. Answering the question, shall an ordinance be adopted amending the Open Space Initiative of 2014, at no cost to taxpayers, allowing Dublin to accept land donation to connect Dublin Boulevard 1.5 miles east to North Canyons Parkway, including bike lanes, pedestrian access, improved 911 response/ traffic flow, and preserve 100 acres of open space while maintaining voter approved housing development restrictions, in exchange for potential limited commercial development on the adjacent 80 acres? Answering the question, shall the Dublin Municipal Code be amended to prohibit councilmembers and commissioners from accepting gifts from lobbyists and city contractors; prohibit lobbyists from sitting on City commissions; impose a combined term limit of 12 years for the Mayor and/or City Councilmembers, while retaining existing term limits for the current Mayor and City Councilmembers; and require posting of all City contracts on the City’s website for public review? That the names of persons voted for at said election for Mayor and City Councilmembers of the City of Dublin and the votes cast are as follows and are listed in Exhibit A, which includes the votes by precinct: Candidates Votes Mayor Sherry Hu 9,274 Tom Evans 8,278 Jean Josey 7,138 Shawn Costello 825 Councilmember – District 1 Michael McCorriston 6,133 Councilmember-District 3 John Morada 2,447 Razi Hasni 2,305 Section 4. The total number of votes cast for the ballot measures are as follows and are listed in Exhibit A, which includes the votes by precinct: Measure II, “Shall an ordinance be adopted amending the Open Space Initiative of 2014, at no cost to taxpayers, allowing Dublin to accept land donation to connect Dublin Boulevard 1.5 miles east to North Canyons Parkway, including bike lanes, pedestrian access, improved 911 response/ traffic flow, and preserve 100 acres of open space while maintaining voter approved housing development restrictions, in exchange for potential limited commercial development on the adjacent 80 acres?” Yes: 13,649 votes No: 12,052 votes Measure JJ, “Shall the Dublin Municipal Code be amended to prohibit councilmembers and commissioners from accepting gifts from lobbyists and city contractors; prohibit lobbyists from sitting on City commissions; impose a combined term limit of 12 years for the Mayor and/or City Councilmembers, while retaining existing term limits for the current Mayor and City Councilmembers; and require posting of all City contracts on the City’s website for public review?” Yes: 19,350 votes No: 6,095 votes Section 5. No. 146-24, Item 8.1, Adopted 12/17/2024 Page 3 of 3 Michael McCorriston was elected as the District 1 Member of the Dublin City Council for the full term of four years; and John Morada was elected as the District 3 Member of the Dublin City Council for the full term of four years; and That Measure II, with the question, “Shall an ordinance be adopted amending the Open Space Initiative of 2014, at no cost to taxpayers, allowing Dublin to accept land donation to connect Dublin Boulevard 1.5 miles east to North Canyons Parkway, including bike lanes, pedestrian access, improved 911 response/ traffic flow, and preserve 100 acres of open space while maintaining voter approved housing development restrictions, in exchange for potential limited commercial development on the adjacent 80 acres?” was approved by the voters by a simple majority of “yes” votes; and That Measure JJ with the question, “Shall the Dublin Municipal Code be amended to prohibit councilmembers and commissioners from accepting gifts from lobbyists and city contractors; prohibit lobbyists from sitting on City commissions; impose a combined term limit of 12 years for the Mayor and/or City Councilmembers, while retaining existing term limits for the current Mayor and City Councilmembers; and require posting of all City contracts on the City’s website for public review?” was approved by the voters by a simple majority of “yes” votes.
