City of Lathrop, California, community economic profile brochure. RECOMMENDATION: 1 . Receive the Staff Report. (� 2 . Review the content outline and layouts. 3 . Provide staff with comments. 4 . Give direction to proceed with community profile brochure. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Costs associated with typesetting, printing, photo separations and photography of a four page, color brochure with four color photographs are estimated to be approximately $3 ,700 for 5, 000 copies. Funds have been provided in the FY 1990-91 budget for this project. DESCRIPTION: Included in the 1990 City of Dublin Goals and Objectives Plan were a number of Public Relations objectives including development of a community profile brochure. The purpose of the brochure is to provide potential business persons and residents with an attractive, well prepared and informative brochure emphasizing the benefits of locating in the City of Dublin. On May 29 , 1990 the City Council conceptually reviewed the production of a brochure and directed Staff to continue working with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce. Specifically, the Council directed that the appropriate target audience of a brochure be identified and that a content outline be provided. A four page, color brochure with four color photographs is proposed in an 8 1/2 x 11 inch format (one folded 11 x 17 inch sheet) . It would be similar in concept to the attached Lathrop, California, "Community Economic Profile" (see Exhibit A) but ---------------------------------------- Item No. � Copies to: Chamber of Commerce Agenda File Project Planner s would be four pages in length and printed on high quality stock. The information in the brochure would be arranged around the color photographs under bold subtitles. Staff has met with Dublin Chamber of Commerce representatives to discuss the appropriate targets of a community profile brochure and its contents. These discussions indicated that small business persons and individuals interested in moving to Dublin were the most appropriate targets for this brochure. The discussions resulted in the following content outline: CONTENT OUTLINE: First page: 1 . Title in green stating "City of Dublin" "Community Profile" . The font could be Irish in style with a shamrock dotting the "i" . 2. City seal . 3 . Color photograph of the Civic Center. 4 . Text briefly addressing: a. Location/transportation/access b. Climate. Local education (emphasizing recent awards) , schools and Library. d. Regional educational opportunities (major universities, etc. ) . e. Business Climate (including business registration) . f. Shopping. g. Parks and recreation. h. Major amenities in region. i . Day care. j . Health care. k. Dublin's future. 2 . Color photographs of: a. Swim Center. b. Attractive home. C.
