Authorize Mayor to execute agreement. Authorize transfer of funds in the amount of $250,421 to this project from unallocated reserves, of which $75,126 will be offset by a contribution from the Dublin Unified School District. Exhibit 3 details the construction cost per agency, assuming that the City pays the design and inspection costs. The recommended bid and alternates will exceed the City's budgeted allocation by $175,295. The impact of this additional expense can be minimized by starting the renovation at the Dublin High School baseball field later in Fiscal Year 1990-91. DESCRIPTION: At its meeting of March 12, 1990, the City Council authorized Staff to advertise for bids for Contract 90-05 Dublin High School Stadium Renovation. The City received a total of two bids (see attached bid summary Exhibit 2) for this project. The low bidder was Collishaw Construction with a base bid of $660,510.00 and a total bid, with alternates, of $1,032,010. Park & Recreation Commissioners Dublin Unified School District In reviewing the bid results with the School District Staff, the School District Staff felt that the bid cost of the track resurfacing ($275,000) could not be justified compared with the anticipated amount of use the track would receive. The total bid price excluding the track surface and including a 10% contingency is $832,711. Based on the agreement between the City and the School District, the City's share of the construction cost would be $559,775, and the School District's share would be $272,936. The City is also responsible for all design and inspection costs, which are estimated at $81,520. Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and recommends that the City Council award the bid, with alternates 1, 3, 4, and 5, to Collishaw Construction. RESOLUTION NO. -90 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN AWARDING CONTRACT 90-05 DUBLIN HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM RENOVATION TO COLLISHAW CONSTRUCTION, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on April 16, 1990, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract 90-05 Dublin High School Stadium Renovation, authorized by the City Council on March 12, 1990, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby award City of Dublin Contract 90-05 Dublin High School Stadium Renovation to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit Collishaw Construction, Inc.,at a bid of Eight Hundred Thirty Two Thousand Seven Hundred and Eleven Dollars ($832,711), the particulars of which bid are on file in the office of the City Engineer.
