RECOMMENDATION: ~ FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Authorize Staff to advertise for bids. Budgeted for this project: Design $ 2,500.00 Inspection 1,000.00 Construction: 12~500.00 $ 16,000.00 DESCRIPTION: In Fiscal Year 1989-90, a survey of the location of pedestrian signal push buttons was undertaken at the City Council's direction. Those able to be rectified by simply moving the button lower on the signal poles were retrofitted through the City's maintenance contract with Alameda County. The remainder, which includes new or relocated stand- alone pushbuttons or the removal of curbs, are included in this project. These improvements would provide handicap access to all the City's traffic signal system pushbuttons. The locations of these modifications are: Amador Valley Blvd. at Stagecoach - northwest corner Amador Valley Blvd. at Village Parkway - northwest, northeast, and southeast corners Amador Valley Blvd. at Amador Plaza - median nose Amador Valley Blvd. at San Ramon Road - northwest, southwest, and southeast corners, and median nose San Ramon Road at Dublin Blvd. - northwest corner, median noses Dublin Blvd. at Amador Plaza - median noses Dublin Blvd. at Sierra Court - median noses Village Parkway at Lewis - median noses It is recommended that the City Council authorize Staff to advertise for bids.
