Rankin, Assistant City Manager) EXHIBITS ATTAC~IED: Notice of Completion RECOMMENDATION: Accept the Improvements; Authorize City Manager to execute Notice and to enter into an agreement necessary to assure completion of the punch list items. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Upon completion of punch list items and outstanding issues, a complete financial report will be prepared. DESCRIPTION: Pursuant to State Law, the City is required to record with the County Clerk a Notice of Completion. This establishes the time frame for subcontractors to submit any stop notices due to non-payment of funds. The City Attorney's Office has prepared the Notice in accordance with the requirements of State Law. The filing of the Notice of Completion has been undertaken in order to finalize the project and final payments to the contractor and subcontractors. The Notice will be conditional upon completion of the final punch list items. Further, it shall be subject to the City withholding adequate retention for any stop notices, punch list work remaining, and any other issues associated with the agreement. It is anticipated that the Contractor will have all punch list items complete within the next 30 days and the City and Contractor will enter into a final agreement which will reflect a full and complete resolution of any outstanding issues related to the renovation agreement. The Construction Agreement provides for release for final payment 35 days after the Notice of Completion is filed. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements; authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion and have the Notice recorded with the County Clerk and execute any agreement necessary to assure completion of the punch list items. The owner of the work or improvements is City Civic Plaza, Dublin, California, 94568. or improvements of Dublin, 100 3. The work or improvements is located at 11600 Shannon Avenue, Dublin, California and is particularly described as follows: Shannon Community Center Renovation Project No. 89-1 The work consists of improvements to make the building accessible to handicapped by installing an elevator, revising the restroom facilities, installing new door hardware and handrails on the stairway. The work also includes improving the fire safety features of the building by installing _ fire restrictive corridors. The work included a general upgrading of the facility by replacing an exterior wood deck, replacing exterior doors, improving lighting and ventilation in the public meeting rooms, installing new floor covering throughout and refurbishing the kitchen ~nd installing new kitchen equipment. 4. The name of the contractor for the work or improvements is Hodgson Construction Inc., located at 751 Warrington Avenue, Redwood City, California, 94063-3585. 5.
