SUBJECT: 1991 Community Calendar Printing Bids (Prepared By:

FINANCIAL Approximate cost for the printing of the 1991
STATEMENT: Community Calendar is $9,894. 84. Adequate funds have
been included in the 1990-91 budget.
DISCUSSION: During the City Council Goals & Objectives session,
the City Council expressed an interest in continuing, to publish a
community calendar on an annual basis.
Staff is currently working with a local typesetter to prepare the
layout and design of the 1991 calendar. The format will be similar to
the 1990 calendar in that each month will highlight a different aspect
of the community. The theme for the 1991 calendar is "Quality. of Life
and the Environment." Features will include recycling, disaster
preparedness, parks, volunteer .projects, Dublin Pride Week and many
more exciting articles. Staff expects to distribute the 1991 calendar
prior to January 1, 1991.
In addition to working with a typesetter, staff will also need to
obtain professional printing services. Pursuant to the City' s
Purchasing Ordinance, all purchases of this type which exceed $5,000
must be secured through a formal bid process. Accordingly, staff has
solicited bids for the printing of the 1991 community calendar.
On Monday, November 19, 1990 at 3 : 00 p.m. , staff opened bids for the
printing of the 1991 calendar. The bid specifications call for the
printing and preparation of 10,500 calendars. This year, staff has
asked that quotes include the use of recycled paper. In addition, we
have asked bidders to bid on two different covers: Alternate #1
( 4-color) ; Alternate #2 ( 2-color) .
The City received a total of 8 bids. The following outlines the bid
results:
